Climate change impacts
By the end of the day on March 8 the average Canadian will have produced as much greenhouse gases as the average Algerian will produce over the course of the entire year. Therefore, March 8 (67 days into the year) is "Climate Change Impacts in Algeria Day."
In Algeria, the impacts of climate change are being felt through the spreading of the desert, salt contamination of soil, and an increase in the risk of extreme weather events, such as droughts and flash floods.
