Climate change impacts

It takes only fifteen days for the average Canadian to produce as much greenhouse gases as the average Bangladeshi will produce over the course of the entire year.  Therefore, January 15th (fifteen days into the year) is "Climate Change Impacts in Bangladesh Day."

According to the Government of Bangladesh’s Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan, “Bangladesh is likely to be among the countries that are worst affected by climate change.”  Expected climate change impacts include: increasingly frequent and severe tropical cyclones; melting of the Himalayan glaciers; sea level rises; and warmer and more humid weather.  In addition, dry areas are expected to receive lower and more erratic rainfall, while wet areas are expected to experience heavier and more erratic rainfall.
