Climate change impacts
It takes only 103 days for the average Canadian to produce as much greenhouse gases as the average Batswana will produce over the course of the entire year. Therefore, April 13th (103 days into the year) is "Climate Change Impacts in Botswana Day."
“Available climate change projections and impact studies suggest that Botswana is highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. The variable nature of the country’s rainfall frequency and magnitude make Botswana particularly vulnerable. A variety of climate simulation models predict that temperatures in Botswana will on average rise by 1-3oC by the year 2050. Drought is a recurring feature of Botswana’s climate, and desertification is a national concern.”
