Climate change impacts
It takes only 58 days for the average Canadian to produce as much greenhouse gases as the average Cuban will produce over the course of the entire year. Therefore, Febrary 27th (58 days into the year) is "Climate Change Impacts in Cuba Day."
Some effects of climate change can already be felt in Cuba including an increase in the annual mean air temperature; increase of frequency of extreme weather events like intense rains and severe storms; and higher incidences of drought. Read more at Cuba's National Communications to the UNFCC.
