Climate change impacts
It takes only 45 days for the average Canadian to produce as much greenhouse gases as the average Dominican will produce over the course of the entire year. Therefore, February 14th (45 days into the year) is "Climate Change Impacts in Dominican Republic Day."
Like many other Caribbean countries, the Dominican Republic is particularly sensitive to climate change. Expected temperature increases along with rising sea levels and decreased precipitation will have detrimental effects on the island nation.
