Climate change impacts

It takes only 53 days for the average Canadian to produce as much greenhouse gases as the average Fijan will produce over the course of the entire year.  Therefore, February 22nd (53 days into the year) is "Climate Change Impacts in Fiji Day."

Climate change is already threatening Fiji.  Key changes expected to impact Fiji include sea level rise, causing loss of land due to flooding of coastal plains, loss of freshwater, salinisation of agricultural soils, extreme weather events, and damage to reefs and marine resources.
