Climate change impacts

(English below)

It takes only 34 days for the average Canadian to produce as much greenhouse gases as the average Guinean will produce over the course of the entire year.  Therefore, February 3rd (34 days into the year) is "Climate Change Impacts in Guinea Day."

"In common with other countries forming the coastline of West Africa, Guinea is threatened by a daunting range of potential impacts associated with climate change."

Access to water is likely to become increasingly difficult, as the country has already been subject to floods and drought, and climate change is expected to result in shifting rainfall patterns.  Intrusion of salt water on agricultural land is also expected to be a problem as sea levels rise.
