Climate change impacts

It takes only 42 days for the average Canadian to produce as much greenhouse gases as the average Indonesian will produce over the course of the entire year.  Therefore, February 11th (42 days into the year) is "Climate Change Impacts in Indonesia Day."

“Impacts of observed changes in climate are already evident in Indonesia and will likely worsen due to further human-induced climate change. Rising concentrations of greenhouse gases will continue to raise the surface and ocean temperatures, change precipitation patterns, increase sea levels, and cause various other impacts from more frequent forest fires to increased health risks. Climate change will also continue to affect ‘natural’ climate variability, such as El Niño, and may lead to more frequent and more intense weather events.”
