Climate change impacts

It takes only 154 days for the average Canadian to produce as much greenhouse gases as the average Italian will produce over the course of the entire year.  Therefore, June 3rd (154 days into the year) is "Climate Change Impacts in Italy Day."

Climate change in Italy has caused an increased incidence in droughts and deadly heat waves. There has been an upward migration of many plant and animal species due to increased temperatures at higher altitudes. Increased temperatures will also cause the depletion of Alpine glaciers, which may cause floods or the formation of new lakes.

Story

"My name is Diego Redini, I’m 29 and I live at Canneto sull’Oglio, in the province of Mantua. I raise cattle for the production of milk and I grow fodder crops. The climate changes have had – and will have – an impact on all the aspects of my farming activities."
