Climate change impacts
Le 7 janvier est le “Jour d'impacts des changements climatiques au Rwanda” parce que, sur une base par habitant, il ne faut que sept jours pour le Canadien moyen d'utiliser la même quantité de gaz à effet de serre qu'un individu du Rwanda utliserait au cours d'une année entière.
Les changements climatique au Rwanda affecterons les ressources en eau, l'industrie, la sécurité alimentaire, l'agriculture, la santé des écosystèmes et la fréquence des inondations, des sécheresses ainsi que des glissements de terrain en raison de précipitations accrues. Les impacts affecteront donc les aspects environnementaux, économiques et sociaux du pays.
It takes only seven days for the average Canadian to produce as much greenhouse gases as the average Rwandan will produce over the course of the entire year. Therefore, January 7th (seven days into the year) is "Climate Change Impacts in Rwanda Day."
Climate change in Rwanda will affect water resources, industry, food security and agriculture, ecosystems health, and the frequency of floods, droughts, and landslides due to increased rainfall. Impacts will therefore affect the environmental, economic and social aspects of the country, meaning great changes as our climate shifts.
