Climate change impacts
It takes only fifteen days for the average Canadian to produce as much greenhouse gases as the average São Toméan will produce over the course of the entire year. Therefore, January 15th (fifteen days into the year) is "Climate Change Impacts in Sao Tome and Principe Day."
The effects of climate change in Sao Tome and Principe are already being felt in the form of increasing temperature changes, decreasing rainfall and rising sea level.
